Science is a universal language that is spoken in every aspect of life. Curiosity drives Science and science is at the core of every object ever created, invented or discovered. From the grain of sand to the mighty mountains has science involved. So it is rightly justified that science be correlated to other subjects.
Correlation with Geography
As teachers it's common knowledge to proceed from simple to abstract concepts. Similarly during the teaching-learning process of Irrigation for std. VIII the teacher may retrieve the previous knowledge by asking the students about the variety of crops, the soil types, crops cultivated according to the seasons.
The teacher may probe on the moisture level based on the weather and then accordingly ask the students the method of irrigation to be employed in the various scenarios.
Correlation with Environment
The school plays a major role in creating awareness and educating the students about the issues we face with regards pollution and the mitigation strategies they can employ to safeguard the Earth for future generations.
Similarly in the teaching-learning process, of the topic Recycling of paper the teacher could educate the students about the 3 R's i.e. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. The teacher should ask the students to use paper and not plastics by showing the ill-effects of plastic that has been polluting the marine ecosystem and thereby the organisms in the ecosystem.
Correlation with Fine Arts
Biology and diagrams are interspersed and hence the students will find the need to support their justification with a diagram. However, diagrams are not solely restricted to biology - physics and chemistry also involve diagrams.
